Lael Land Management Plan
Lael Land Management Plan
The Lael Land Management Plan sets out how we intend to manage 870 hectares of forest to the south of Ullapool, Ross-shire, between 2022 and 2032.
The plan will contribute toward biodiversity targets through the expansion of native woodland and the creation of riparian woodland along watercourses. We will also be looking to reduce the amount of Larch to mitigate against the threat of Phytophthora ramorum. When the area to the north of the Arboretum is felled we will expand the Forest Garden to further improve the educative, ecological and amenity value of the Lael Forest Garden. Lastly we will diversify the species within our productive stands to improve resilience of the forest.
