Open ground is the dominant habitat occupying 61% of the LMP area with productive conifer being the dominant woodland type. This forest is isolated from utilities and public infrastructure. Access to this area is by forest road from Glenhurich Forest via the public road at Polloch in the south, with the timber transport route accessing the forest from the north via Conaglen Estate and Callop & Drumfern Forest near Glenfinnan.
