New team take on Cobleland campsite
Forestry and Land Scotland’s Cobleland camping ground will be under new management from 1 March.
Holiday park company, Allseasons Retreats, successfully bid to run the campsite that lies between Aberfoyle and Gartmore on the eastern edge of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.
The management team - Oliver Paul and David Broadhead – have extensive experience of planning, developing and managing holiday parks.
They plan to invest in the campsite to increase access for all, generate more community benefit and establish a strong and profitable tourism business.
Oliver said;
“Being from the local area, I know the site well and know how much it has to offer.
“Situated in The Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and the wider National Park - two of Scotland’s great outdoors destinations - Cobleland is a fantastic centre for camping and we want to make it as accessible for as many people as we can.
“And in keeping with the location, we are passionate about making the site look as natural and as low-impact as possible.
“Whilst we want to offer visitors the best experience possible, we firmly believe that this can be done in a way that supports both our industry and the local community that we have the privilege of living in. We’ve engaged with the local community to make sure that local people also benefit from the tourism that Cobleland will bring to the area.”
As well as promoting recycling and establishing two areas to create habitats that encourage as much wildlife as possible, the new management team will be investing in environmentally friendly solutions next year to benefit the site.
The site will also host a community accessible shop, to in-part replace the recently closed community shop in Gartmore, will promote local businesses and will provide training and skills based learning for hospitality students in the Stirlingshire area.
David added;
“Our combined experience in all behind-the-scenes and front-of-house aspects of holiday parks gives us a sound basis upon which to build and make Cobleland a fantastic destination.
“We have already undertaken a large amount of works on the site with a revamped reception and updated infrastructure. We’re really looking forward to taking the campsite in a new direction, opening up this part of the world to more people and providing the local economy with a boost.”
The site offers a range of camping, glamping and hardstanding options, as well as a choice of meadow or forest pitches and is taking bookings now.
