Did you know that Scotland is home to ten of the 17 bat species living and breeding in the UK? …
A wide, surfaced path leads along the bank of the Black Loch on the southern side of Limerigg Wood. It’s a good spot for bird watching: there are often wildfowl on the loch. On days when there are no birds, it’s still a great place to blow the cobwebs away.
Black Loch is well stocked with trout. You can buy fishing permits from Black Loch Fishery.
The nearest public toilets, shops and cafés are in nearby Airdrie and Falkirk.
There is no parking at this location.
Please park with consideration and do not block pedestrian and vehicle access points. Do consider public and active transport if available and possible.

Local bus services stop at the south end of Limerigg village, 300m from the entrance to Black Loch. Plan your journey at Traveline Scotland.
