The purpose of this plan is to review the Forestry Commission Scotland’s (FCS) management of Elchies Forest in accordance with the Moray & Aberdeenshire Forest Districts (MAFD) strategic plan.
Elchies forest block is located at GR NJ234444 just north of the small village of Archiestown, within Speyside. It is close to the A95 trunk road, which leads to the south and incorporates part of the renowned Malt Whisky trail. The forest block extends to 1520 hectares comprising of high moorland forest in the north that descends to a pastural landscape in the south.
