There’s a change in the air - the daffodils are coming out in bloom, the days are getting that wee bit longer and brighter, and the kids are super excited about two whole weeks off school.

If you’re looking for something to entertain the family this Easter, look no further. Our Easter events in the forest promise to be so much fun, even the Easter bunny himself is hoping to come along…

North East

Easter Eggstravaganza
Sunday 5th April, 1pm-4pm
£5 per car

Near Forres, you’ll find the lovely coastal forest of Roseisle. Join us on Easter Sunday for an Easter egg hunt and other shenanigans. Bring your bike too – there are lots of flat routes to explore on two wheels.

West Highlands

Easter Trail

If you’re based near Inverness, make sure you come along and try out our Easter fun trail. It’s a great way to get out for some fresh air and kids love the hill fort that dates back to 300 BC.

Loch Lomond & Trossachs

Alice in Wonderland & Easter Fun
The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre

£2 per duck, plus small charge for some craft activities

A visit to the Lodge is a great day out any day of the year, but during Easter the forest comes alive with Alice in Wonderland inspired trails and entertaining duck races.


Easter Eggstravaganza

£3.50 per person (under 5’s go free)

Celebrate spring on the beautiful banks of Loch Long. Join us for a bunny hunt, Easter competitions, crafts, and forest theatre, and don’t forget to stretch your legs afterwards on one of the enchanting trails.

Easter Fun at Carradale
Carradale Network Centre, Carradale
Monday 6th April, 10.30am – 3pm

Come to the Kintyre peninsula this Easter for fun activities in the forest – keep an eye out for the playful animals hiding amongst the trees.

Spring into Easter
Monday 6th April, 2pm – 4pm

Hop over to Lochgilphead for an Easter adventure. Get all the family involved in exploring the Easter trail, doing crafts and getting their face painted. Friday 3rd to Monday 6th April, 10am-4pm

Come along and follow the woodland Easter trail, and find out all about tremendous trees, with plenty of fun activities along the way. Pick up an activity sheet from the visitor centre. For further information, please contact 01479 861220.

Join your local ranger to learn some outdoor skills, with a few Easter surprises too.


Easter at Kirroughtree

Keep your eyes peeled for the Easter bunny at Kirroughtree. There’s plenty of fun for all the family at our recently revamped visitor centre, so make a day of it and enjoy everything Galloway Forest Park has to offer.

You don’t need to come along to one of our events to enjoy the forest, there are plenty of places to explore! Have a fantastic Easter weekend.
