As well as Starter farms, we're creating grazing opportunities on the Estate.

These small business units provide new entrants with start-up grazing areas. This will help to build up their farming experience and stock numbers. These smaller opportunities are typically on sites which require low input/output farming methods that enhance our environmental objectives.

Information on each of the sites and application forms are included within the downloadable site information packs listed below. Interested parties should complete the application form and return to the relevant regional office by the appropriate closing date.

The Scottish Government is committed to helping New Entrants to Agriculture and those looking to progress from New Entrant status. To assist, applications for grazing land will be weighted in favour of suitably qualified New Entrants and Progressors.

While the process favours New Entrants, there may be occasions when these applicants are unable to deliver our desired outcomes. We therefore welcome applications from established graziers/farmers.
