At Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) we carry out a uniquely diverse range of civil engineering activities. These include everything from forest road building for timber haulage, bridge design and construction, , to the provision of footpaths and other forest recreation infrastructure to name just a few.

We work with some pretty inspiring people who are passionate about forestry, the environment and its sustainability and as the fight against climate change continues to move up the procurement agenda, we assure you this is already a firm part of our DNA.

What we are looking for

Through completion of a new Civil Engineering strategy we aim to enable FLS to deliver best value from its management of Scotland’s national forests and land, which make up approximately 9% of Scotland’s land mass. Our plans to transform Civil Engineering are ambitious, but exciting and we recognise that getting the right people is key to our success. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for people with leadership and commercial skills, with experience that will support our ambition to deliver change through self-evaluation, data-led decisions and innovative ideas.

Wherever you want to base yourself in Scotland, we want to build and expand on the positive team-working environment we’ve created so far; so are looking for enthusiastic, proactive people with a collaborative approach to work.
