A very short but fairly strenuous 'there-and-back' trail to reach an ancient burial cairn hidden amongst the trees.
The nearest public toilets (including accessible facilities), a cosy café and a small selection of gifts and souvenirs can be found at nearby Glentrool Visitor Centre.
There is no charge to park in this car park. Please park with care and consideration. In particular please park in designated parking areas only and do not block entrances or gates.
The trail at Whitecairn begins in Glentrool Village. Head up the road that skirts the east side of the Community Centre and playing fields. As the road begins to bend left, keep an eye out for a path between the houses marked by a green post with a white band.
DG8 6SY is the nearest postcode.
The bus service between Newton Stewart and Girvan stops at Glentrool Village. Plan your journey at Traveline Scotland. Plan your journey at Traveline Scotland.
