Almost a hundred camer...
A former opencast mine reclaimed for nature, Muirkirk is a peaceful, sheltered place full of wildflowers, insects and birds. A network of forest roads make Muirkirk a lovely visit for all the family.
There are shops and places to eat in Muirkirk.
There is no charge to park at this woodland. Please park with care and consideration, and do not block pedestrian and vehicles access points.
This recently planted forest is on the west side of Muirkirk on the A70. Parking is available in a large layby on the south side of the road - look out for the totem pole.
KA18 3QF is the nearest postcode, on the edge of Muirkirk village.
Buses between Cumnock and Muirkirk pass the forest. Plan your journey at Traveline Scotland.
