We are currently carrying out a full Land Management Plan  (LMP) revision to help us determine future management proposals for the forests and land we manage across Caithness. This revised LMP will detail how we intend to manage this land over the coming 10 years and will indicate our vision for the next twenty five years and beyond. The revision will include areas currently covered in the East Caithness LMP and Braehour LMP, and will cover an area of approximately 8242 hectares.

Through the new plan we will be seeking to address issues around productive conifers, tree health, wet woodland and peatland restoration as well as making sure that the forests provide future economic and social benefit to residents and visitors.

The deadline for initial scoping comments has now passed however we would be pleased to hear from any interested parties at any point during this next drafting stage of the plan. So if you have any comments please send them to us using the contact details at the bottom of this page.

  • December 2021: Drafting of revised LMP proposals
