West Bold is located in the Scottish Borders, 0.5 km south of Walkerburn within the Tweed Valley between the Forests of Traquair and Elibank. Recently purchased, it is part of Scotland’s national forests and land, owned by Scottish Ministers on behalf of the people of Scotland, and will be managed by Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS).

The main management objectives in this plan focus on sustainable timber production, climate change mitigation and adaptation and landscape value.

We are developing a land management plan to detail these proposals for management of the area over the next ten years. Draft versions of the plan will be published here and we invite comments and feedback from the public on the proposals.
