Almost a hundred camer...
Off the beaten track, this site provides easy access to the Talnotry walking trail, the 7stanes Big Country route and The Eye sculpture located beside the loch. It is also a great place to view the night sky due to the lack of light pollution experienced at this location.
The nearest town is Newton Stewart, about 9 miles away, which has public toilets, shops and cafes.
Our Stay the Night trial has now closed for the season. All participating car parks have now reverted to no overnight parking permitted, in line with all our car parks.
Directions: If travelling from Newton Stewart Black Loch is the first forest road entrance on the left after the Wild Goat Park and is signed Black Loch. Follow this forest road along a narrow track, over a small concrete bridge and as the road veers to the left, the Stay the Night location is on the left. If travelling from New Galloway, Black Loch is the first forest road entrance on the right after the Red Deer Range entrance and is signed Black Loch. Follow this forest road along a narrow track, over a small concrete bridge and as road veers to the left, the Stay the Night location is on the left.
DG8 7BL is the nearest postcode.
