About

A window onto Loch Lomond with views over Argyll Forest Park

Tarbet Isle lies on the banks of Loch Lomond just north of Tarbet. The Isle itself sits offshore and is referred to as ‘Honeymoon Island’ due to tales that newly married couples were sent to spend a week on the island together – the marriage was thought to have a good chance of success if they were still on speaking terms at the end of the week.

The trail gives great views down Loch Lomond to Ben Lomond and the surrounding hills.
