Important

The recent storm has affected many of our destinations; it will take us some time to assess the extent of the damage. We are prioritising tree clearance work based on immediate danger and/or access issues. If you are visiting please take extra care and report any specific concerns to your local regional office.

Loch Shiel LMP has expired. The forest will now be part of East Loch Shiel LMP, which is currently at the scoping stage.

View East Loch Shiel LMP

Loch Shiel Forest lies along the South eastern shore of Loch Shiel between the Lochaber villages of Strontian and Glenfinnan. Open ground is the dominant habitat occupying 61% of the LMP area with productive conifer being the dominant woodland type. This forest is isolated from utilities and public infrastructure. Access to this area is by forest road from Glenhurich Forest via the public road at Polloch in the south, with the timber transport route accessing the forest from the north via Conaglen Estate and Callop & Drumfern Forest near Glenfinnan.
