Forestry and Land Scotland, as an executive agency of the Scottish Government and under Part 9 of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, is a Corporate Parent.
As a Corporate Parent, Forestry and Land Scotland has obligations and responsibilities towards children and young people with care experience. However, we also want to make sure that wherever possible we extend our responsibilities to everyone who has a care experienced background. This, our first Corporate Parenting Plan sets out how we intend to do so over the next three years.
You can find out more about Corporate Parenting and what it means to be a Corporate Parent on the Who Cares? Scotland website. Who Cares? Scotland are a National voluntary organisation who work with Care Experienced Young People and Care Leavers across Scotland.
