Forestry and Land Scotland is an executive agency of the Scottish Government. Our Chief Executive is accountable to Scottish Ministers and the Scottish Parliament, for the effective and efficient operation of the agency. Chief Executive, Simon Hodgson, reports to the Minister for Environment, Biodiversity and Land Reform, Mairi McAllan MSP, and the Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero, Energy and Transport, Michael Matheson MSP.

The FLS Framework Document sets out the relationship with the Scottish Government, and the accountability structures, administrative and financial arrangements within which we operate.
