We have created a map-based Register of the National Forests and Land where you can explore all the land and buildings that we manage in your area.

More information about who owns land in Scotland is available from Registers of Scotland’s map based system, ScotLIS. All the national forests and land are registered and you can search the Register to find out information about previous sales, and purchase title information.

Our Land Management Plans set out how we intend to manage specific areas of the national forests and land. The plans are renewed every 10 years in consultation with local communities to help us get the balance right between economic interests, including jobs and timber production, social and environmental benefits.

The LIS Agri-environment and Forestry map tool brings together over 60 datasets relating to Scotland's environment. You can search your particular area of interest to identify the presence of a range of environmental features and designations such as Scheduled Monuments, Sites of Special Scientific Interest and Native Woodland.

More spatial data is available on the Forestry Commission Open Data Site. This includes a range of publicly available spatial datasets that can be used in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including National Forest Inventories

If you have a question about your local woodland, you can also contact your local Forestry and Land Scotland office.
