The Loch Chon Land Management Plan (LMP) is FLS's 10 year renewal of our plans for the forests and land around Loch Chon. The revised LMP will set out how we intend to manage the area going forward, building upon the work of previous plans for the area.

The Loch Chon LMP area sits at the northern reaches of Loch Ard forest, extending from near Kinlochard village to within a kilometre  of Loch Katrine. The Loch Chon block is entirely within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, and sits within the boundaries of  Stirling Council. The area around Loch Chon is valued for its impressive landscape character, diversity of forest types, and for its timber production.

The long-term vision for the Loch Chon LMP area is to maintain and enhance a diverse forested landscape,  increase habitat connectivity, and continue to sustainably produce timber. The landscape of the Loch Chon area is highly valued for its rugged character and the recreation opportunities it provides, and maintaining these characteristics is a key part of the vision.

We are currently consulting on our draft plan concepts.
