Community organisations have a right to request to take over publicly-owned land or buildings that they feel they can make better use of for local people. These community empowerment rights apply to all land and buildings managed by Forestry and Land Scotland.

Our Community Asset Transfer Scheme sets out how groups can acquire land that we manage, for the benefit of their communities. Read the following guidance to find out how your community group can apply for an Asset Transfer Request:

Current Asset Transfer Requests

All Asset Transfer Requests must be conducted transparently with opportunities for public consultation. Here you can read about recent applications and find out how to submit your comments for consideration.

Notification of sales to communities and other bodies
