There is a very high risk of wildfire in the south and west of Scotland from 24 to 25 April. Please plan ahead and check online before visiting.

The woodlands around Johnstone, Elderslie and Howwood are great places for children to play, friends to stroll and walking groups to keep fit.

Paths lead among the trees right from the street in many places, and you can use buses and trains to get from one forest to another.
