The woodlands around Renfrewshire are great places to explore and relax in. Many of these greenspaces are accessible by public transport.

Forests to visit

Bluebell Wood

Breathe in the fresh air and enjoy birdsong here. The woodland has good bus links and a train station just 15 minutes’ walk away. In spring the wood really lives up to its name, with carpets of bluebells across the forest floor.

Boden Boo

See the Erskine Bridge from a very different perspective. At Boden Boo the bridge towers above as below you can get close to nature. Here you'll find informal trails, great picnic spots and even a riverside beach.

Rannoch Wood

A mature woodland of tall beech and sycamore trees. In autumn the beech trees display a range of colours including yellow, orange and gold.

Windyhill

A gentle hill leading to the Brandyburn waterfall. Enjoy birch and oak woodland and views of Paisley, Glasgow and the Kilpatrick Hills.
