Woodland with fields on either side.

Ochtertyre Moss Wood Land Management Plan is a new 10-year plan for the management of the 96.45 hectare (ha) site to the west of Stirling acquired by FLS in 2022.

The land management plan will provide detail on how we aim to manage the existing woodland and priority open habitat of the Ochtertyre Moss SSSI.

Location

The plan area lies 7 kilometres to the north-west of Stirling and is close to the hamlet of Blair Drummond. The main entrance is located at Ordnance Survey grid reference NS 7432 9729.  A location map can be found in the link below.

Timeline

Preliminary work on the new plan started in September 2023 with an initial scoping meeting.  An outline concept for the site was produced in Spring 2024.

We now have draft proposals ready for wider engagement and consultation with stakeholders. The consultation period provides the opportunity to raise issues that will have an impact on plan development. Stakeholders will have 28 days to respond as part of this consultation between September 16th and October 20th, 2024.

Consultation will take the form of direct communication with stakeholders, on site signage and local advertisement all directing to the information on this page.

Following consultation, a final draft plan will be sent to Scottish Forestry for comment, following which it will be placed on the Public Register for final consultation. The plan will remain on the Register for 28 days during which time stakeholders have further opportunity to make comment.

Our proposals and supporting documentation and maps can be found at the links below.
