- ensuring mutual accountability for delivery of our corporate responsibilities, including corporate and annual business plans
- allocating resources for long-term organisational health
- making sure that we're a safe, healthy and nurturing workplace
Responsibilities
Kevin works to ensure we are a sustainable business and agency. He makes sure we offer a range of environmental, social and economic benefits for Scotland. These are set out in our Corporate Plan.
Biography
Kevin brings a wealth of expertise from senior leadership positions in:
- environmental policy
- climate change mitigation and adaptation
- trade and investment
- delivering economic development advisory programmes in emerging markets
His previous experience includes:
- Scottish Government Director of Environment & Forestry
- Scottish Government Director of International Trade & Investment
- working for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office
Kevin began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and later worked for Oxfam GB, as well as in consulting. He is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds an MBA from Warwick University.
Nicola McBain
Responsibilities
Nicola leads on our Fit for the Future transformation agenda and is responsible for delivering operational excellence across our Corporate Services Directorate. This is formed of several teams, including:
- People
- Finance
- Corporate Office
- Communications
- Fit for the Future
Biography
Nicola has extensive experience in corporate services and change from a number of operational delivery bodies. She was previously Director of Corporate Services with Disclosure Scotland. She has also led governance, assurance and change workstreams in both Social Security Scotland and the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.
Responsibilities
David leads on achieving best value from our procurement activity. He is also responsible for generating value from:
- our visitor services
- renewable energy
- natural capital
- estate development
- land agency
Biography
David was previously Regional Manager in East Scotland. There, he oversaw delivery of all aspects of our operations. Before that, David spent over 25 years working in government. Specifically, he worked with business and industry on land use planning and development, economic development, and international trade and investment.
Responsibilities
Graeme is responsible for our national land management services:
- Planning and Environment
- Technical Services including forest management, civil engineering, deer management and plant and seed supply
- Timber Harvesting, Marketing and Sales
His directorate is accountable for operational delivery across our five regions. This includes:
- protecting and maintaining the forests and delivery of key programmes
- working with others on award-winning projects and initiatives for nature and peatland restoration
- co-ordinating all aspects of forest management to contribute to government objectives
Biography
Graeme has over 35 years of experience leading and managing operational delivery in both Scotland and England, including most recently in our north region. His passion is nature conservation and connecting people with the natural environment.
Responsibilities
Graeme leads on the Net Zero Agenda and on transforming our infrastructure – balancing our Net Zero and financial sustainability goals. His work includes:
- developing our Net Zero and Adaptation strategies, policies and plans
- streamlining our fleet and rationalising and improving our buildings
- harnessing AI, automation and technology
- enabling business process re-engineering
Biography
Graeme is a qualified accountant. He has previously worked for the Scottish Government Rural Economy Directorate, the Scottish Prison Service and the National Health Service.
