There is a very high risk of wildfire in the south and west of Scotland from 24 to 25 April. Please plan ahead and check online before visiting.

After almost two years of COVID-19 delays, work is beginning on delivery of the Glentress Masterplan, including new mountain bike trails, walking trails and increased visitor car parking space. It’s exciting to see things finally happening on the ground.

Over the next few months, we’ll be constructing trails and trail features and a new activity area. Robertson’s Construction, and expert trailbuilder On Track, will be working on the improvements at the site.

Upper and Lower overflow car parks are being built between June and October 2022. We’ll also be changing the overflow area in the existing Peel car park and constructing a new access road to support bringing the site up to international event standards, enabling Glentress to host competitions at the highest level.

Later on in 2022 we’ll refurbish and strengthen the Peel bridge and be adding four new bridges, two for burn crossings, and two feature bridges integrated into new trails.

It’ll be a busy few months and public safety will be a top priority. Visitors can help us by following safety signage and advice or instructions from our on-site team.

There will be some restrictions in place. From May until September 2022, the Upper Peel car park exit will be closed off, a new two-way traffic system will be in place for accessing the site, and safety signage and detours will be in place on the accessible trails.
