Banchory Land Management Plan amendment
Banchory Land Management Plan amendment navigation
Banchory woods Land Management Plan encompasses an extensive network of forests within the River Dee valley. Banchory woods are a significant resource for the local community and an important recreational area for the wider community of Scotland.
Mid-term review amendment
This amendment to the Banchory Land Management Plan consists primarily of a new acquisition in Scolty woods.
In other areas some conifer species approved for felling are to be retained, this is to mitigate the impact of increased felling due to Storm Arwen and improve practicality for operations.
There are some amendments to the tree species being planted. Areas previously allocated for plantation conifer species are now to be planted with mixed native broadleaf and mixed conifer species to restore woodland areas, and to align with the soil conditions and tree regeneration now present.
