All clearfell coupes identified within this application are Phase 3 felling coupes approved under the current Land Management Plan (LMP).
The current LMP is due to expire in 2027. Owing to resource constraints, the succeeding Long-Term Plan (LTP) will not be approved in sufficient time to support the 2027/28 harvesting programme.
Consequently, an interim felling permission is being sought to provide continuity of sustainable forest management and ensure delivery of the planned harvesting programme
Renaming Land Management Plans as Long Term Plans
Land Management Plans are in the process of becoming known as Long Term Plans, a change needed as a result of changes taking place in legislation.
The Land Reform Act introduces an alternative use for the term Land Management Plan which relates specifically to the forthcoming obligations set out under this banner. These terms are used interchangeably on our website, but both currently reference our plans developed in line with the UK Forestry Standard.
