There is a very high risk of wildfire in the south and west of Scotland from 24 to 25 April. Please plan ahead and check online before visiting.

Forestry and Land Scotland is advising that there will be no Glentress Christmas Tree Sales Centre this year.

With the first phase of work on the Glentress Masterplan underway there will unfortunately be no suitable location for the sales centre at the site this year.

Lynne Mitchell from the FLS local team said;

“The first step in the Masterplan is the demolition of some old buildings and clearance of the car park where we staged our Christmas tree sales centre.

“Unfortunately it means we don’t really have a suitable location where we could safely set up an alternative, so we’re having to take a rest this year.

“We did look at other potential locations but none of the options were viable in terms of ensuring public safety and access.

“We would also have ended up running the centre at a loss.

“The Glentress Masterplan will be continuing through 2022. We will review the potential for a future Christmas tree sales centre at Glentress later next year."
