Following extensive analysis, consultation and development work, the land management plan amendment for Balcorrach Wood was formally approved in May 2017 and is scheduled for renewal by 2027.

- Summer 2015 - Site survey, site analysis.
- Autumn 2015 - Initial design concept for the woodland including tree species choice and shapes.
- Winter 2015 - Community consultation.
- Winter 2016/17 - Application submitted for formal approval.
- Spring 2017 - Plan formally approved.
