Glasgow may be the most densely populated city in Scotland but there are plenty of places to explore…
The woodlands on the edge of Gartmorn Dam Country Park make a great extension to the popular circuit round the water. There are fine views over Clackmannanshire and the Firth of Forth, and you can watch for red squirrels scampering among the branches.
There are 3 miles of gravel and earthy paths in the forest, with some short uneven sections and short moderate slopes.
There is a café, parking and picnic area are available within Gartmorn Dam Country Park.
There is no charge to park in this car park. Please park with care and consideration. In particular please park in designated parking areas only and do not block entrances or gates.
From the centre of Alloa, take the A908 towards Tillicoultry and follow signs for Gartmorn Dam Country Park. There is parking available within Gartmorn Dam Country Park.
FK10 3AZ is the nearest postcode.
Buses serve the Sauchie estate in Alloa, ¾ mile from Gartmorn Dam Country Park. Plan your journey at Traveline Scotland.
