Coal mining country reclaimed by woodland and wildlife

This forest occupies the moorland between Fauldhouse and Whitburn. It covers land that was previously mined for coal, iron and clay. It is now home to a wide range of wildlife throughout the trees and ponds.

The 2.5 km surfaced route is popular with walkers, dog walkers and the occasional cyclist and horse rider. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest or soak in the views over the Breich Valley from the higher ground.
